Remedial Training - My Humbling Experience

Posted by Mr.Keropok

Shamefully having forgotten to take my IPPT last year, I was charged in October 2006 (read here) and the consequences of it was that I would have to undergo Remedial Training (RT) for 4 weeks in January 2007. This was nothing to be boastful about as most of us know that usually only people who fail their IPPT would attend RT. I learnt my lesson, took upon the consequences, submitted and diligently went for every session of RT.

Finally.. After 4 weeks, I passed my IPPT and am out of RT!!! Nevermind that I didn't jump far enough for my SBJ (Standing Broad Jump) nor clock fast enough timing for my 2.4KM run. All it matter to me most when I crossed the finishing line was that "I AM OUT OF RT!!!" It was really of huge relief for me as past few weeks I have been having to reschedule alot of my plans just to adjust having RT as part of my weekly curriculum (twice a week in evenings after work!). Now that it's over, I really have more room to catch a breather... Phew!

Lesson learnt. Period. I will remember to be dilligent and take my IPPT next year. When there are things need to be done, always learn to attend to it quickly. DON'T PROCRASTINATE, else we would never get things done. Worse still, we may end up having more readjustments and things to do!
