The Remixed Psalms 23 (Antithesis version)

Posted by Mr.Keropok

"The clock is my dictator, I shall not rest.
It makes me lie down only when exhausted.
It leads me to deep depression, it hounds my soul.
It leads me in circles of frenzy for activity's sake.
Even though I run frantically from task to task,
I will never get it all done, for my "ideal" is with me.
Datelines and my need for approval, they drive me.
They demand performance from me, beyond the limits of my schedule.
They anoint my head with migraines, my in-basket overflows.
Surely fatigue and time pressures shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the bonds of frustration forever."
- Marcia K. Harnok

Whatever that you read here, isn't it so true? Most of us today are living my a crazy schedule, packed back-to-back and hardly any room nor space to catch a breather! Everything seems important and everything seems urgent enough that everything needs our attention! Feeling the same way too?? Congratulations... you belong to a communal class known as the "Hurry-cane"!

What is occupying our time? What are we busy with? Are we overloaded with too many things? Are we being effective or just doing too many things at one time? Today, flip out your planner/calender/PDA scheduler and start re-organizing and re-shuffling your schedules. List down what are the Essentials, Emergencies, Extras and Expectations, and from there prioritize accordingly.

Question: Do you get to your calender first? Or do you let others get to your calender first?
