I sniggered when I saw this road sign. This road name sound like our favorite army hokkien term "Chow Keng"! A silly thought came to my mind, "Wow! Everyone who lives in this street must love to 'Chow Keng'??"
Well, let the finger point back to ourselves. We all have a tendency to want to "Chow Keng".. whether it is in army, in school, at home, at work... there will always be a creepy side of us that tells us that we want to find the easy way out. Whenever we face tough problems... whenever we meet difficulties that we feel we can't handle.. The first thought that comes to mind is to find the easy way out. Isn't it true? I would catogarize such people as "ME-SIAM"! (If you can roughly get what I mean..)
Honestly, all the "siaming" and "kenging" won't get us anywhere, neither would it help us solve our problems. Worse off, we get so used to escaping that it becomes part of our character and the next time something similar happens, we will just run away! Give all the possible excuses we can find.. that's a COWARDLY behaviour!
Failure does not make us a coward... Escapism DOES!
