I love Malaysia.... I love Cheras!!!

Had the privilege over this past weekend to make a trip up to KL, Cheras and witness two dear friend's marriage. A joy once again to see Noah and Florence, both of whom I got to know at last year's G12 conference and their subsequent visits to S'pore. What touched my heart was really testimonies given by many others, of how both Noah and Florence have touched their lives in unique ways. Their journey in serving God has been full of ups and downs, but they held on to God and reached out to many lives, and of course they held on to each other for this special day of their lives! =)

Oh, and not forgetting my wonderful extended spiritual family, whom i tagged along for this trip. Initially i thought i would feel out of place when i was with them, they i was proven wrong. They overwhelmed me with their hospitality and care throughout this whole trip and never once did i feel out of place or left out. Thank you VK tribe! I enjoyed every moment with all of you, thank you for such great care of me! Appreciate you guys alot! =)

One important thing that i took back from this trip to Cheras, KL was once again the re-emphasise on having a persevering attitude in life. During my time with the Cheras youths, i had the opportunity to know some of them and their family background more. Most of them were raised up in challenging family environments and have experienced some of the worst things in life a growing teen could face e.g. broken family, abuse cases. But yet in the face of challenges and rough rides, they persevered, held on and never give up. And in this midst of such trials, the church and spiritual family were constantly around to help, encourage, pray and minister.

Many times in the comfort zone of S'pore, we are rather "pampered" and when minor challenges of life come, maybe fail exams or stress from work, we tend to opt for the easy way out of running away or giving up. What's gonna happen when even tougher times come along the way?

I like what my cell leader spoke to me about the Christian walk. Never give up, dun ever say you want to give up in life. Because as we look at the ultimate example of Jesus, whom suffered till the point of bloodshed yet still held on for us.. He NEVER gave up! But in our lives, our challenges and problems haven even cause us to face bloodshed yet, why are we giving up? We shouldn't even complain!

Sounds harsh? But reflect upon it, there are some truths to what is shared.
