One Man Show??

Last week, a very dear friend/mentor/leader/grandfather-figure in my life said this statement which made me reflect and think quite a fair bit.

"As a sportman, what would you want to see? That you play super well, score the most points/goals... and your team loses. Or that you played badly, but your team still won. What's is our hearts attitude?"

True enough.. many times we are so caught up with scoring goals of our lives for personal glory that we neglect the big picture of the people, family and loved ones around us. We become just like a soccer player in the English Premier League... score the most goals and becoming the top-scorer.. but yet, our team lost every game and is relegated.

My inspiration of the week:
"Personal glory is a lonely path. Life itself is like a team sport.. why not choose to play and battle things through together. Ultimately, we gain more than just a trophy or creditentials.. but love, trust, unity, relationships and important values in life which are priceless."

Always rem this thought Bongshua posted: In a congregation, if the pastor asks God for gold dust to show His presence & some people get it, would you give thanks to God & His presence, even though you dont get it?

In such a scenerio God shows Himself on a larger glory - even the tiniest bit of gold dust already proves His presence to everyone! =)

Indeed since then God has been showing me that corporate success weighs much more than personal glory. The results of corporate success? Definitely much greater too. =)

Just in case any of you is thinking of God as 'high & mighty', dont fret. Even though Jesus works in great glory, He is a tender-hearted God who loves extreme intimacy with you, yes you, and looks after even the smallest detail of your life. Seek Him for yourself, and the whole spiritual family! =)
