3.8KM SWIM, 180KM CYCLE, 42.2KM RUN.
That's what anyone would have to accomplish to be labelled as an Ironman.
I was tremendously inspired and encouraged by a friend whom shared his triathlon and ironman journey during my trip to Desaru this past weekend. He always had a passion for endurance sports and one thing that spurred him to take part in marathons, triathlons, ironman triathlons and all the 'thons-stuff' was that through all these, he learnt precious lesson about character building and molding.
As I sat there and listened, I was just in awe and amazement of what amount of toil and pain the human body could endure to push through the crazy vigorous regiments in the triathlons. I almost felt like dying when I ran the marathon last year!
I left the session totally inspired.... NOT to compete in an ironman triathlon. I want to develop an IRON-WILL just like an Ironman. An Iron-Will that refused to give up and bow down to the challenges and obstacles faced in daily life. An Iron-Will that dares to step out and have a different attitude. Let me quote something my friend shared...
I - 'I' Factor
R - Resilience & Reliance
O - Optimism
N - Never Drop Out
M - Mission Focused
A - Attitude Counts
N - Need for Nourishment
An IRONMAN with an IRONWILL is one whom perseveres through and chooses to see the rainbow rather than the heavy downpour.
