While everyone was having hangovers from countdown parties, on this 2nd day of 2007, I shook myself out of bed early and went off to settle some house keeping matters from 2006.. Clearing the backlogs! And by this I am referring to cleaning and sunning the 6-men dome tents which was used 3 weeks ago at a youth camp. Just imagine with me these tents were soaking wet when we packed them 3 weeks ago, and it has never been brought out to dry since then. So when I opened up the zip of the tent packs today.... Whoof Whiff!!! *Almost fainted!*.... But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do... Thankfully I had two friends suffering along with me in this!
After 3 hours of unpacking, cleaning, sunning and drying... We finally packed them up for storage again. This time definitely aired of the salted fish smell! Boy.. it was tiring man! Phew!
Initially I thought I could escape from washing these tents.. probably hoping to store them away for eternity till the next "Suay" person loans it from me and gets it cleaned up nicely before returning. But I realised that was wrong.. I shouldn't let others shoulder my own personal responsibilities. The mess that I created, I should learn to clean it up myself and not throw it to others. And of course, never to procrastinate when getting things done. Rather get it done once and for all, than delaying, else we would get nothing done at all!
Big or small incidents in daily living.. Everyone is a learning opportunity!
