It's OK lah.. but is it really OK???

"It's OK lah.. I'll just take a puff only. Should be fine..."

"Hmm.. Should I have a girlfriend? Think it's OK ah.. since everyone also have, should be OK.."

"It's OK to watch pornography because all my friends are doing it too!"

"Let me reach the next level of my game first.. it's ok lah.. I can study later..."

The two words "It's OK" has a very negative / passive / compromising connotation. It is as if we have given up hope on a particular matter or allowing the circumstances to overwhelm us and dictate our lives!

I remembered two weeks ago, I was chatting online with a youth (secondary school) and he was boasting to me how "man" he was having tried smoking. I warned him on the danger of being addicted to smoking and told him not to do it anymore. But he laughed it off and said that he would never be addicted and could stop anytime. He felt that it was ok to smoke since all his friends were doing it. Just two days ago when I chatted with him again, he told me that he was smoking a pack of cigarettes a day now. Each time he was stressed, upset with certain things, or when he is with his clic of friends, he would start smoking. I asked him if he was addicted.. and he dared not answer me.

It's sad to see a young life being all tangled up.. and not to mentioned he got himself into this mess knowing the consequences in mind and just blindly walk into it! It all started because he felt it was ok... Well, it turns out that it was NOT ok actually.

Do you think the same way too? Be careful because you may just be heading towards destructive consequences in your life that you cannot foresee. Every decision we make brings about consequences. And whether the consequences are good or bad will be determined on how we make that call in decision making. Meaning... We have a choice!

Punchline: Make the right choice.. Don't just be a crowd follower!
